Muay Thai camps in Phuket

Phuket is the easiest place to compare camps: five are listed here, and four of them publish prices. Between a training campus in Chalong, a camp in Rawai and a beach camp in Bangtao, the choice mostly comes down to atmosphere and plan.

Why train here

  • A wide choice of plans: Muay Thai only, MMA, BJJ, wrestling or fitness depending on the camp.
  • The Andaman Sea within reach: beaches and islands to recover between sessions.
  • Camps that display their prices, so they are easy to compare before booking.

Best season

On the Andaman Sea side, the dry period runs from November to April, and April is the hottest month. The rains run from mid-May to mid-October; August and September are the wettest (Thai government official portal).

Getting there

Phuket has an international airport. From the airport, count on a taxi or transfer to reach Chalong in the south or Bangtao in the north-west.

Where to stay

  • At the camp or with a partner: several camps on the island offer rooms, see their pages.
  • Around Chalong to stay close to training, around Bangtao to be close to the beach.
  • We publish no room prices: ask the camp or the hotel.

Training without breaking the bank

  • Compare plans before choosing: Muay Thai only is listed lower than the wider-access plans. Sumalee and Phuket Top Team publish no prices: ask the camp.
  • If you stay long, the three-month plan costs less than three months paid monthly, based on published prices.
  • Mind the VAT: Tiger lists its prices excluding VAT.

What to do nearby

  • The island’s beaches and boat trips to bays and islands.
  • Wat Chalong and the southern temples.
  • The cafés and restaurants of the training districts.
