Muay Thai camps in Chiang Mai

Chiang Mai, in the north, has a very different pace from the islands: a green setting, everyday life that is generally cheaper than on the coast and three listed camps, including technique-focused Santai. The prices of The Camp and Lanna are not published: you have to contact them.

Best season

In the north, the cool period runs from mid-October to February; December and January are the coolest months. Hot summer follows from mid-February to mid-May (April is the hottest month), then the rains from mid-May to mid-October (Thai government official portal).

Getting there

Chiang Mai has its own airport. The Santai camp, in San Kamphaeng, is east of the city: taxi or transfer from the airport; ask the other camps for their exact address.

Where to stay

  • Rooms and bungalows around the camp, in San Kamphaeng (see its page).
  • Or in town, if you prefer restaurants and neighbourhood life.
  • We publish no room prices: ask the camp.

Training without breaking the bank

  • Ask for the camp’s price list before booking: no public prices were found.
  • A long stay gives more room to discuss a monthly plan with the camp.
  • A rented scooter eases getting around, but check licence and insurance.

What to do nearby

  • The old town and temples, including Doi Suthep.
  • Night markets and northern cuisine.
  • Hikes in the nearby mountains.
